This page lists some of the missionaries supported by Faith Bible Church and tells a little about their ministries. It is not complete, but we will add more of the ministries we support as we can gather the information and pictures and add them to the page.

Prentice and Louree Boyd

Boyd1.jpg (18595 bytes)

Prentice and Louree Boyd are missionary church planters with Northwest Independent Church Extension. They have served with NICE since 1982, when they moved to Woodburn, Oregon, where they planted Grace Bible Church. Prentice still pastors the church, which now meets in a rented building in the heart of Mt. Angel Oregon. Mt. Angel is a predominantly-Catholic town with only the Catholic church and seminary, which trains priests for the whole west coast.

Prentice is also a chaplain with Alive Ministries, Inc. In that capacity he acts as the Protestant Community Chaplain of Mt. Angel. He does weddings, funerals and counseling while trying to reach people for Christ. With help from another couple, Prentice and Louree also run The Coffee Shop Espresso, Gift, Teen Ministry, where they minister to teens. In the back of The Shop they have a pool table, foosball, ping-pong table, popcorn maker, and Christian book nook. They use this area to attract teens and also some adults to talk about their beliefs.

Prentice and Louree were originally from Southern California, and were members of Faith Bible since 1973.

Cary and Lois Green

Greenhouse Clippings, Fall 2008
Cary is a 1998 graduate of The Master's Seminary. He and Lois were sent out to Germany in October of 1999. They serve as a family in East Berlin in their local church, Bibelgemeinde Berlin, discipling the believers and training up the leadership. Cary is also involved in the European Bible Training Center (EBTC), dedicated to the training of strong church leaders across Europe.

Goals:

To develop the one-year-old Bibelgemeinde Berlin. into a growing, vibrant body of believers with strong national leadership.
To continue overseeing and teaching at the EBTC.
To disciple faithfully the children with whom God has blessed us.
To progress in language acquisition to complete fluency.

Current Ministry

Cary shares in both the preaching and teaching responsibilities at Bibelgemeinde Berlin. The adult Sunday School class is currently studying the issue of Christian parenting, a topic which has been received with much interest.
The Greens will be starting an evangelistic home Bible study in October, LORD willing, reaching out primarily to unsaved neighbors and acquaintances.
Cary also oversees the ongoing development of the EBTC, and teaches its Theology classes each year.
Lois shares the Children's Sunday School teaching responsibilities and holds a "Girl's Club" in their home for young girls.

Prayer Requests

Growth in the lives of the believers at Bibelgemeinde Berlin.
Salvation of unsaved neighbors and acquaintances and for God to bring people to the new evangelistic Bible Study.
For God to send the students of His choice to the EBTC each year and that they would return to their home churches better equipped for the work of the ministry.
Salvation of our children, each one in God's perfect timing.
God's protection and blessing on the homeschooling of our children.
Continued progress in language acquisition.

Ann Kontz

Email, June 20, 2008

Ann Kontz works with UIM int (United Indian Mission) at Broken Arrow Bible Ranch in VanderWagon, NM close to both the Navajo and Zuni Indian reservations. Most of Ann's responsibilities at the ranch center around the office and kitchen where she serves as office administrator, bookkeeper and kitchen supervisor. She is also actively involved in the women's ministries of her local church and involved in teaching Bible Studies and counseling native women. She is also teaching children's Bible classes in the government boarding school at Ft. Wingate NM.

She has been involved in native ministries since graduating from Bible college in 1971. She worked first at the Navajo Bible Church in Fort Defiance, AZ where her former husband was the first indigenous pastor. In 1980 her family became involved full-time with the ministry of Broken Arrow Bible Ranch. In her years there, she has seen the facilities multiply greatly and the number of campers who came each summer more than double. In the summer of 2006 there were 961 campers, mostly native American children, with 161 of these children trusting in Jesus as their Savior. One of the highlights of recent years is the number of native young people who have been coming back to serve with the staff in leadership positions ranging from wranglers to counselors to supervisors to speakers. A number of our camp alumni are in training to serve the Lord vocationally.

Ann has four children and nine grandchildren. Kathy is busy with her family of six children home schooling, teaching piano and working for her local church. Adam has two boys and lives in Arkansas where he works managing a local restaurant chain. Beckie and her husband Chris work at a Christian conference center in California.

Faith Bible Church has been an integral part of her support team since the early 1980's.

Jerry and Miriam Laursen

Laursen's Letter - June, 2008

Jerry & Miriam Laursen minister to Hispanics in the Pacific Northwest, with Central American Missions International

Jerry's parents were founding members of Faith Bible Church. His father was the general contractor who built the present building. Jerry abandoned a career in pharmaceutical research to respond to God's call & go to Bible School to prepare for missions. There he met Miriam (a Canadian), and pastored a church while attending seminary. He then got his doctorate at Dallas Theological Seminary, and left the U.S. for Central America. After teaching New Testament for 20 years in Guatemala, the family, now with 4 daughters, moved to Chicago where they founded a Hispanic church plant, ministering for 12 years there and teaching part-time at Moody Bible Institute and its Spanish extension program. Currently they reside in Spokane Valley, Washington, and continue the ministry of speaking at conferences, seminars, short-term Bible Institutes and creation training. Jerry is especially focusing on editing his 31 years of class notes and sermons in Spanish onto CAM's special website

Marty and Pat Wolf

Marty's Jewish upbringing, both at home and in the synagogue, gave him a reverence for the Holy Scriptures. At age 21, he discovered the New Testament linked the names of David and Abraham with Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:1). In an attempt to "prove" that Jesus wasn't the Messiah, he began to search the Old Testament Scriptures. Instead, God's Word accomplished its purpose (Isaiah 55:11), and he found peace and forgiveness by believing in Messiah Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

Pat was raised in a Christian home. But, it was as an adult that she trusted Christ having assurance of her salvation.

As a representative for The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry in the Los Angeles area, Marty's activities include Bible Studies, personal visitation and counseling. He is available for Prophecy and Missions Conferences, pulpit ministry, Passover Seders and explanations of other Jewish observances. He will also help you to better understand your Jewish friends through the presentation of "Jewish Awareness" Seminars. Pat is also available to speak to women's groups.
