We are just winding up our second week of camp this year. We have had two big camps, 118 and 143 campers. We have had over half of our campers come for the first time. The first week we had 19 salvation decisions and 20 talked to their counselors about assurance of salvation. We appreciate everyone's prayers. We praise the Lord for the wonderful leadership team of adults He has provided. However, we have been operating on a real skeleton crew of summer staff. Even our director, Steve, had to fill in this week as a counselor. He actually enjoys that interaction with the children, but it is kind of hard to do the rest of his job when he is tied up with the campers to that degree. Finances have been tight for the camp with the rising costs of everything. But I am optimistic that by the end of summer, we will be back in balance. One effect of the economy is the amount of scholarship money that we have given out already, but God had provided for this beforehand by giving us a large grant designated for this purpose.
• Pray with us for sufficient godly youth staff for the summer. • Pray for many young people to trust in the Lord as their Savior this summer. • Pray for the discipleship ministry among our youth staff, for Dino and Nanette Butler our head counselors who lead the summer staff. • Pray for Danny and Sarah Hughes to raise the rest of their support to join our team full time by next summer. • Pray for my son Paul, Sarah, Elisha and Keira as they are living with me raising their support to be missionaries with a sister mission. • Praise the Lord for the Mlekodaj and Cote families who have recently joined our team. • Pray for the continual fund raising, permits and implementation of our wastewater project. Our board and engineering team are working hard on this. I appreciate your prayers and interest in our ministry here among our Native American young people. Ann Kontz |
